If I were a tree, I’d be a Camperdown elm. This species is close to my heart as it is featured prominently on the historic campus of the University of Idaho where I received my formal education and further developed my passion for landscape architecture. I also have a high tolerance for windy climates, much like the Camperdown elm.
Wade possesses a unique and broad-based skill set based on 20 plus years of experience in Landscape Architecture, Land Use Planning and Golf Course Design professions. This experience includes a diverse collection of award-winning projects across Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest United States - ranging from large-scale land-use planning, to golf course renovation projects.
Wade’s professional career began in golf course agronomy and construction management during the development of the Silvertip Resort, Stewart Creek Golf Club, and TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley. Following his passion for golf course design, he earned the position of Principal Designer with Browning Horrocks Golf Design. During his tenure with the firm, Wade was responsible for the co-design of the Copper Point Golf Course – Ridge and Point courses, Coyote Creek Golf Course, Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club - Hawk course expansion, and the Blue Devil Golf Course, nominated as “Best New Golf Course in Canada” by SCOREGolf magazine.
In 2013, Wade brought his golf course design expertise to Ground Cubed as Director - Golf and Recreation Design. Recent project experience includes a 36-hole greens renovation project for the Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club, and an 18-hole renovation of the McCall Lake Golf Course.
Wade holds an Honours Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Idaho where he received the American Society of Landscape Architects - Award of Honour for excellence in academic achievement. He is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and associate member of the Alberta Society of Landscape Architects.
