Ground Cubed is currently working as the project landscape architect on a proposed neighbourhood development in Red Deer, Alberta.
The community will be the first of kinds for the City of Red Deer, serving as a pilot project to implement enhanced landscaping strategies for Low Impact Development (LID), place-making and urban design elements. A central park with a skating area and shade structure, community garden and pedestrian scale crossings are a few of the features planned as part of the green space network.
Ground Cubed is working with the City Land and Economic Department, Engineering services and various other City departments to reach a finalized design – receiving feedback and comments throughout the process from the initial design outset. The project is currently in development and approvals phase and is to be tendered in 2016.
