The Bear Street Revitalization improves the public realm experience within the Town of Banff. The project works to improve the pedestrian experience for the Town of Banff along one of its most frequented streets, with stated goals of increasing social opportunities to elevate congestion on Banff Ave by creating new opportunities and new experiences. At the heart of the concept is the woonerf (a living street), complete with formal and informal traffic calming measures, urban design interventions including enhanced planting, seating, and supporting public realm amenities - access to Bear Street is equalized for different modes and speeds of travel.
